Shift toward original authors as aggregators face 60% cuts, 90% penalties

X's payout changes are hitting specific creator types all at once. A March tweak started weighting impressions by a creator's home region. That immediately cut earnings for accounts with international audiences, even if they post in English and aren't political.

Now the cuts are explicit. Aggregator accounts are at 60% of prior payouts this cycle, with another 20% deduction next cycle. Reposts or third-party content can lose up to 90% of impressions. Nikita Bier also said X is testing tools to identify original authors and shift some revenue toward them.
