DTCC brings 50+ firms into tokenized Treasuries trading pilot

Big financial firms are moving tokenization from theory into live market infrastructure. The conversation has shifted from whether assets go onchain to which systems are actually usable for regulated balance sheets right now.

That change showed up in real deployments, not panels. DTCC’s tokenization pilot is bringing 50+ institutions into limited production trading for U.S. Treasuries, ETFs, and equities in July, targeting an October launch. Babylon Labs said its Bitcoin staking protocol crossed $4 billion in total value locked about a year after launch, and Seismic has 30+ fintechs, institutions, and governments building on its privacy-focused testnet.

The competition is no longer about issuing tokenized assets but about distribution, security, scale, and fees, which tilts the field toward firms like BlackRock, Fidelity, and J.P. Morgan as this moves into production.
