Claude now runs in the cloud with hands on your local files
Claude Code and Cowork can now let cloud-hosted Claude reach files on a user’s computer. That makes permissions the real choke point: the model runs remotely, but the agent still gets local hands to complete tasks.
The setup does not run Claude entirely on the device. New tasks move to Anthropic’s servers, while sessions, transcripts, and outputs stay tied to Claude accounts. Local file access is being added on top of that cloud-based execution.
