AI agents helped one hacker compromise over 100 companies
One Chinese-speaking hacker reportedly used AI agents to target more than 1,200 websites and compromise over 100 companies, including Deere, SharkNinja and Cummins. The campaign ran on the open-source Cairn agent framework with DeepSeek models and a Claude Code harness, turning a huge amount of intrusion work into a low-cost operation. Successful breaches took about 23 hours and roughly $5,000 in AI tokens.
