Codex remembers your screen so you stop restating context
Codex is moving from prompt threads to remembering what's on your screen, so you don't have to restate context every time. The new Chronicle preview builds a memory layer from day‑to‑day work and recent screen activity, letting Codex refer back to what you were doing and continue from there.
It's live as a research preview on Mac for Pro users, still early and token-heavy. The same rollout also saw a brief Codex outage that lasted about 10 minutes; the system helped fix itself, but the key insight came from a human, and rate limits were reset after recovery.
