White House asks frontier AI companies to police themselves

The White House has turned “superintelligence” from a political slogan into a voluntary governance framework for the companies building it. About 20 technology leaders attended Trump’s September 29 luncheon, including Elon Musk, Sundar Pichai, Mark Zuckerberg, Jensen Huang, Satya Nadella and executives from OpenAI, Anthropic and other major firms.

The accord emphasizes self-regulation and transparency, while Trump said frontier AI companies should police themselves under government oversight. The White House released the Accord on Superintelligence the next day.
