Ethereum nodes can sync in under half a day using under 0.5 TB
Ethereum finalized the Glamsterdam upgrade on the Sepolia testnet on October 6, moving ePBS, block-level access lists and gas-pricing changes closer to mainnet. The access lists work like state diffs, replacing the traditional sync-healing phase so nodes can synchronize faster and with less complexity. Aggressive settings already let an Ethereum node sync within half a day using under 0.5 TB of disk space.
That progress did not clear the path to mainnet. Ethereum core developers delayed the Glamsterdam fork on Hoodi on October 22 while client teams investigated issues, and the Ethereum Foundation said on October 23 that a new date would be announced.
