Ethereum’s Glamsterdam upgrade enters Sepolia testing October 6

Ethereum is moving Glamsterdam into live testing on October 6, giving the network a real environment to measure whether the upgrade can expand Layer 1 capacity without making block processing harder. The date is set for Sepolia, but the mainnet launch remains unconfirmed, so this is validation rather than a rollout deadline.

The upgrade adds built-in proposer-builder separation, block-level access lists and gas-pricing changes. It also includes sync improvements, including support for Nimbus’s new sync protocol. Sepolia activates first on October 6.
