Kentucky’s 4th District GOP primary early returns show Gallrein 55-45 over incumbent Thomas Massie
Early returns in Kentucky’s 4th District Republican primary show Ed Gallrein ahead of incumbent Thomas Massie, with the race still uncalled. The first reported snapshot had Gallrein at 55% to Massie’s 45% with 5.29% of the vote in, including a lopsided 65%-35% split in Spencer County.
The result lands after a late scramble in what became a high-cost test of Massie’s standing against a Trump-aligned challenger. Outside groups poured more than $20 million into the race, and final polls were split, one showing Gallrein up 51%-44% and another showing Massie up 51%-49%.
