OpenAI’s new dots can run continuously and connect to 4,000+ apps

ChatGPT is moving beyond prompt-by-prompt help: OpenAI launched GPT-6.1 Sol for coding and agentic workloads, then added dots that keep working in the background. Sol is included in all paid plans across ChatGPT, Codex, and the API, while ChatGPT subscriptions now work inside more than 16 partner products.

• Dots run on GPT-6 Astra with their own computer and browser.
• They connect to more than 4,000 apps and learn from user feedback.

A primary dot comes with Pro, can operate continuously without using normal plan limits, and OpenAI expects millions of dots online within days. Heavy demand for GPT-6.1 Sol initially put ChatGPT and Codex under load before added capacity nearly doubled serving speed.
