IBM connects tokenized deposits to Swift’s 24/7 settlement network
IBM connected Digital Asset Haven to Swift’s blockchain ledger, giving banks a route to settle tokenized deposit transactions around the clock through payment infrastructure they already use. The connection runs through a beta ISO 20022 messaging adapter and was tested with 24/7 transfers and final settlement.
That matters because tokenized bank money does not need a separate crypto rail here. Swift’s network reaches more than 11,000 financial institutions, while IBM is also testing an on-premises version for IBM Z and LinuxONE, so banks do not need a public cloud to test it.
