Netanyahu says Israel and U.S. will eliminate Iran’s regime and threat

Israel and the United States are publicly framing the campaign against Iran as an effort to eliminate the regime and its threat, not just contain its nuclear program. Netanyahu said the two countries would finish the effort together after discussing it with President Donald Trump.

The timing points to renewed military planning: Trump and Netanyahu were discussing strikes against Iran as Secretary of War Pete Hegseth visited Israel and Israeli fighter jets conducted overnight drills toward Iran. Trump said Iran cannot be allowed to obtain a nuclear weapon.
