Codex Auto-review is now free and no longer uses plan quota
Codex Auto-review is now free for ChatGPT users, so running longer tasks with an approval layer no longer uses plan quota. That removes the tradeoff between checking every action manually and giving Codex Full Access.
Auto-review adds a separate agent between Codex and actions outside the sandbox. It can block high-risk commands, find safer alternatives, or ask for approval while checking command execution, extra file access, and network requests. Users can turn it on under Settings > Permissions > Auto-review or choose “Approve for me.”
