Bitget resumed withdrawals while the $351.6M attacker moved funds

Bitget resumed withdrawals while the attacker was still moving assets across chains after taking about $351.6 million from parts of its hot and warm wallet infrastructure. Cold wallets and the separate self-custodial Bitget Wallet were unaffected, and the attack vector remains undisclosed.

BTC withdrawals resumed on September 28 and ETH withdrawals on September 29, with Bitget saying user losses were fully covered by its 5,500-BTC Protection Fund, valued at about $464 million. After ETH reopened, roughly 9,674 ETH flowed in against 9,023 ETH out.
