Nvidia sets a record $150 billion buyback, just 3% of its value
Nvidia now has roughly $235 billion available to buy back its own shares through fiscal 2028. That signals confidence in the company’s valuation, but the headline is less overwhelming against Nvidia’s roughly $5 trillion market value: the new $150 billion authorization equals about 3% of the company.
The authorization is the largest ever, topping Apple’s $110 billion record from 2024. Nvidia repurchased $19.7 billion of stock in the quarter ended July 26, so using the full balance by January 30, 2028 would require a faster pace, especially with stock-based compensation still offsetting some dilution.
