AMD still can’t supply enough AI chips despite boosting output

AMD still has more AI-chip demand than it can supply, even after increasing output in 2026. The company now plans a substantial supply increase in 2027 as TSMC adds capacity.

The expansion depends on more than wafer capacity. AMD is coordinating with memory suppliers and customers to bring capacity online together, while Taiwan remains central to the company’s plans, including further investment and new packaging work.
