Fake GIWA network using real chain ID drained about $2 million
Scammers drained about $2 million by launching a fake GIWA network before GIWA’s real mainnet was live. The network used GIWA’s legitimate chain ID, 9134, while a fraudulent bridge sent users’ ETH to scammer-controlled addresses. DYOR identified 1,731 transactions involving 275 wallets, including 744 DYOR trades, and more than 1,300 bridge-related addresses. Verified losses are still being reconstructed from Ethereum records.
