FBI weapons seizures jumped 125% under Summer Heat 2.0
The FBI says its Summer Heat 2.0 operations produced sharply higher seizures and more children located than last year. Weapons seizures rose 125%, fentanyl seizures increased 65%, and children found and located climbed 35%, according to FBI Director Kash Patel.
Patel tied the results to moving 2,000 FBI personnel out of Washington, D.C., into permanent field assignments. He also reported arrests rising by as much as 80% in some cities, presenting the figures as evidence of a more aggressive field posture.
