Fortnite on Linux will require TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot

Epic is rebuilding Easy Anti-Cheat for Linux, with Fortnite as the first game to test the new system. The plan is to offer EAC Linux v2 to other multiplayer developers after that, but Epic has not announced a release timeline.

The replacement uses measured boot, kernel lockdown, IOMMU, eBPF, and a dedicated anti-cheat system service instead of a Windows-style kernel-level system. Fortnite on Linux will require TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot enabled in the system BIOS, along with a trusted signed kernel and signed drivers.

Epic is discussing EAC v2 support with Valve, but Steam Deck support is not available initially because the device lacks some required security features.
