OpenAI’s compute chief Sachin Katti is leaving after securing double-digit gigawatts

OpenAI is losing its computing chief just as the company’s infrastructure buildout is spreading across more sites, cloud providers and chip projects. Sachin Katti said he will leave in the next few weeks after roughly a year, then stay on as an adviser after November 15. The timing leaves OpenAI managing a leadership handoff while preserving some continuity with the relationships behind the expansion.
