Boeing wins Navy’s $20 billion F/A-XX sixth-generation fighter contract

Boeing now controls both U.S. next-generation fighter programs after winning the Navy’s F/A-XX competition over Northrop Grumman. The classified aircraft is a sixth-generation carrier-based fighter, and the award covers full-scale development rather than just a prototype. That gives Boeing a stronger position across the military fighter market, with Navy service entry expected in the 2030s and the contract valued at more than $20 billion.
