Cloudflare lets AI agents pay per API call in USDC

AI agents can now pay for API calls directly instead of relying on API keys or monthly plans. Cloudflare’s Monetization Gateway handles per-request charges, with each transaction settled in USDC on Base. That gives autonomous software a native way to buy outside services as it uses them, though the update is still a description of the planned payment flow. Base described the setup on October 1, 2026.
