Metaplanet bought another 1,000 bitcoin for more than $87 million, taking its holdings to about 44,000 BTC and making it the world’s second-largest corporate bitcoin holder.
The treasury strategy is not simply buy and hold. In the third quarter, Metaplanet sold 10,000 BTC and repurchased 11,000 BTC to show credit-rating agencies it could liquidate bitcoin when needed. The latest purchase added 1,000 BTC.
