Lockheed Martin puts AI inside its military tech development cycle

Lockheed Martin’s advanced development unit is integrating AI into the process of building new military technology. That moves AI beyond a support tool and into the iteration cycle itself, as defense contractors face pressure to develop weapons faster and absorb battlefield lessons from Ukraine, where low-cost drones have exposed weaknesses in traditional procurement. The unit is shifting away from conventional development cycles toward AI-assisted iteration.
