Micron backs MATCH Act targeting China's DUV chip tool access

A new push in Washington aims at the last tools Chinese fabs still rely on: older chipmaking gear and the servicing that keeps it running.

Ahead of a House panel vote, Micron is backing the MATCH Act to extend export curbs to equipment and support tied to YMTC, CXMT, and SMIC. The change targets gaps left by current rules, especially DUV immersion lithography that has let Chinese producers keep scaling. Tool makers and the Dutch government are pushing back, warning it hits suppliers like ASML and Tokyo Electron and shuts remaining access paths.
