StarkWare maps which blockchains can survive the quantum threat
StarkWare released a table and migration map showing which blockchain networks can move to post-quantum cryptography more easily. The immediate issue is wallet security: a powerful enough quantum computer could derive a wallet key from public transaction data and drain funds without obtaining the seed phrase.
Networks built for cryptographic flexibility have a clearer upgrade path, while less flexible chains face a harder transition. StarkWare is treating the problem as migration planning before quantum attacks become practical; a quantum-safe Bitcoin transaction mined in August required 3,100 GPU-hours and $320 of compute.
